DeJarlais, Leah Louise 69, died Saturday, January 18, 2014, with family by her side. She was residing at Epiphany Pines Independent Living Center at the time of her death. Leah was born January, 6, 1945, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Leo and Margaret DeJarlais. She grew up in Champlin, Minnesota and graduated from Anoka High School. Leah was employed at Menards in Coon Rapids, MN for over fifteen years, receiving many awards of recognition as a valued employee and numerous accolades from customers she helped over the years. Leah was a beloved sister, courageous through her illness, who didn't lose her sense of humor. She had many treasured visits this last month from friends and family. Leah is preceded in death by her parents, sister, Michelle DeJarlais and niece, Amanda. She is survived by her two children, Aimee Kester and Timothy Hawkes; two grandchildren, Tina and Kyle Kester; sister, Anita DeJarlais Klune; brother, Fred DeJarlais (Nancy); sister, Jeanne Schwartz (Walter); her compassionate caregivers cousin, Renee Ofori and her husband Yaw, and many other cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Friday, Jan. 24, with reviewal 1 hour prior at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, 525 Jackson St, Anoka.
