IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Larry Dale
Skogen
May 24, 1937 – August 5, 2021
In his 84 years, Larry Skogen taught his family and friends many things. He educated everyone he met about the magical combination of egg coffee and ginger snaps. He taught the importance of being able to fix a flat tire and change the oil in your car. The most important thing Larry taught us was how to live life to its fullest, that tenacity could get you a job at Honeywell that would last over 43 years, how to put your family first, and how important a smile and sense of humor is. Born on May 24, 1937, Larry grew up in Isle, spent most of his life in Minneapolis and took the road less traveled, often with his family in tow. Even in the end, Larry was smiling and making jokes with everyone around him. His family knows it will be hard to imagine holidays without his smile, laugh, and coffee, but know that he is up in heaven with his Heavenly Father praying that they will all learn how to appreciate the genius of the TV show "Ice Road Truckers". In the meantime, he hopes that you all treat each other with the same kindness and compassion that he did. His wife of 65 years, Dody, his 5 children, 14 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren invite you to the graveside service at West Oak Grove Cemetery in Oak Grove on Saturday, August 14 at 10 a.m. followed by a Celebration of Life at South Isanti Baptist Church from 11 a.m.- 1:30 pm. The final thing Larry would want to impart on all of you is to love the Lord with all your heart and treasure your families. To honor Larry, consider donating to the J.A. Wedum Hospice or use Larry's favorite phrase, uff da, as frequently as possible to keep his proud Norwegian heritage going strong.
