Horak, Ken L. age 66 of Andover, MN formerly of Coggon, Iowa was born December 17, 1950 and passed away peacefully on October 23, 2017 at his home after a battle with cancer.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo & Norma Horak of Coggon, IA; a sister at birth, Betty Jane; and a nephew, John Walderbach Jr. of Cedar Rapids, IA.  Survivors include his wife, Beth Horak of Andover, MN; sons, Roger (Heidi) of Buffalo MN and Daryl (Laurie) of Vadnais Heights, MN; granddaughters, Becky (18) and Katie (15); brother, Larry of Marion, IA and sister, Janet (John "Louie") of Ely, IA. He graduated from North Linn High School in 1969 where he played football & baseball.  He and Beth married August 29, 1970, they recently celebrated their 47 ^th wedding anniversary.  He worked most his career as a Boilermaker. Ken enjoyed years of winter vacations in Mexico and the Caribbean (Jamaica was his favorite), a couple European vacations, an Alaskan cruise and many fishing trips including Canada. This past summer Ken, along with his wife and sons fulfilled a lifelong desired Alaskan adventure. He traveled all over the United States, but most relaxing weekends were spent at the cabin in Wisconsin where he did much of his hunting and golfing.  A visitation will be held Monday, October 30, 2017 from 4-7 PM at Thurston-DeShaw Funeral Home at 13817 Jay St. NW, Andover MN, funeral services will be private for the family.  There will also be a memorial reception in his hometown of Coggon, IA at the Historical Hall, 123 E. Main St. on Saturday, November 4, 2017 from 4-6 PM.
