Katherine Louise Hoppenrath passed away peacefully on November 21, 2025. She was born on January 4, 1921 in Marion, Ohio. She is proceeded in death by husband Walter, daughter Bette Kay Vossen, son Douglas, brothers Robert and James Mossbarger, sister Helen Governale, mother Mabel, father Homer Mossbarger, granddaughter Debbie Huhtala and great grandson Jeffrey Huhtala. She is survived by daughter, Sheryle (Richard Cuffe), son Gregory (Robin), 20 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren,11 great great grandchildren.
She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, knitting, needlework, traveling and did much volunteer work in years past. She was a Girl Scout leader and active in her children's school and church activities. She catered, was a clerk, a waitress, typed for a magazine, then ran her own sewing business. She lived alone since her husband's death in 1987 and moved to Tucson in 1991. There she enjoyed the warmer weather and made many new friends. She sang in the church choir for 30 years and experienced the thrill of flying a plane on her 90th birthday. Her deepest love was her family.
Services will be held at Zion Lutheran Church in Anoka on Tuesday, 12/9/2025. Visitation will be at 10 am, followed by service at 11 am, lunch at the church at noon and internment at Sunset Memorial Park at 2 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
