June A. Allen, age 94 of Ramsey, passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids.

The youngest daughter of a family of seven (two girls, five boys) and named for the month of her birth, June shared her warmth and humor, strength and compassion with those she loved.   June grew up on a farm, graduated from Comfrey High School and set out for the City.   She lived and worked in Minneapolis, returning home on weekends to sew clothes (with the assistance of her mother) for her new life.   Married in 1960, blessed with a daughter in 1961, June quietly supported family outings from fishing at Lake Mille Lacs (not her favorite) to hiking in Colorado and summer road trips exploring the Country.

June was a genuinely kind person, good natured with an open acceptance of people and situations; a good friend and loving Mother.  Divorced at age 75, June continued to reside in Shoreview near family, friends and her Church.   In her later years, June struggled with her memory and just this Summer moved in with her daughter Vicky and son-in-law Brad.  An avid Twins fan and news junkie, June enjoyed reading her morning paper, chatting over a morning cup of coffee with Vicky, going for walks and spending time with family.

In addition to her parents, James and Augusta (Wollmuth) Christenson, June was preceded in death by her former spouse and siblings.  She is survived by her daughter, Vicky (Brad) Couillard; numerous nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at Incarnation Lutheran Church, 4880 Hodgson Road, Shoreview.  Visitation one hour prior to the service at church (10:00 - 11:00 a.m.)  Interment will take place in Incarnation Cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to Vail Place, a community resource for individuals living with a mental illness ( www.vailplace.org )
