Skar, Judith K. age 76 passed away on October 25, 2021 at her home in Dayton. Judy dedicated her life to her family, friends, and students teaching primarily at Stevenson Elementary school in Fridley for 2nd/3rd grade students until retiring in 2004. Preceded in death by her fathers Wayne Herreid, Gay Brown; mother, Evelyn Brown; brothers, Galen Brown, and Bruce Herreid. Survived by her husband of 49 years, Marty; daughter, Stephanie Skar-Lee; siblings, Kelly (Lois) Brown, Lois (Don) Christensen, Charlie (Paula) Brown, Linda (Alan) Ljunggren, Larry Brown, sister-in-law, Souane Chanthavongsa-Brown; and many other family and friends. A visitation and memorial service will be held on December 4, 2021 at 10 am at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, 2005 Branch Ave. Anoka, MN 55303, 763-421-0220; followed by a luncheon at the American Legion 400 Main St. W. Anoka. Floral arrangements can be sent to Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home. The family will use memorials for donations to a charity (Parkinson's, Multiple System Atrophy Research), for a community educational program/school, and a small part will be used for a glass keepsake memorial, and quilt for the family.
