Judith Kay Olson (Judi), age 75 of Big Lake MN passed away peacefully at home on July 17th, after a courageous battle with Cancer.
Judli was born on March 25th, 1947 in Eau Claire, WI to Lee and Evelyn Smith. She was blessed to be one of seven daughters. Judi graduated from Memorial High School in 1965 followed by a degree in business from UWEC.
During this time she met her future husband Richard Olson (Rick). They married on June 7th, 1969. Throughout their 53 years together they lived in Racine, Bemidji, Andover and finally settled in Ramsey, MN where they raised their two children.
Judi had a zest for gardening, decorating and crafting. For many years Judi and Rick enjoyed the cabin life on Lake Mille Lacs, entertaining everyone who walked through their door. In the winter they flew south to the Florida Keys where they relaxed in the laid back lifestyle of fishing and combing the beaches.
She will be sadly missed by her devoted husband, Rick, her loving daughter Jennifer (Shane) Roy of Big Lake and her two grandchildren Sydney and Liam who she adored.
She is also survived by her six sisters, Shirley (Ron) Parejko, Janet Veleke, Karen (Charles) Hart, Donna (Larry) Wold, Nancy (Tom) Goller and Sandra (Gary) Weinkauf. Sister-in-Law Debbie (John) Maher, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son Mark Philp Olson, parents, mother and father in-law Jeanne (Oscar) Olson and brother in-law Ron Veleke.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, July 25th at the United Methodist Church of Anoka, 850 South Street, Anoka MN.
Visitation one hour prior to service with lunch to follow in the fellowship hall.
