Obituary

Judy M. Johnson, age 72 of Champlin, MN, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on Thursday, May 28, 2020 at her home. Her death was very sudden and devastating to the family and she will be missed beyond words.

Judy was born April 28, 1948, in Perham, MN, to Walter Frederick Nels and Helen Minnie Mary (Schmidt) Roberts. She graduated in 1966 from Grand Rapids High School in Grand Rapids, MN.  Judy was united in marriage to Robert Alan Johnson on February 1, 1966, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Warba, MN.   Their marriage was blessed with three children: Tina, Alan, and Debbie.  Judy worked for Mercy Hospital for over 30 years.

Judy especially enjoyed spending time with her family; being a grandmother was one of her greatest joys, and her children and grandchildren were her whole life. She was the rock of our family. She taught us how to love and support one another even when it was hard to do. She had such patience and love for her family. She loved spending time putting together puzzles, playing games with the family, bowling with the girls, and watching her game shows.  She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

Judy was preceded in death by her husband Robert; son Alan; parents Walter and Helen; sisters Kaye Sellers and Vicki Schwanke; brothers: Lawrence, Rodney, and Ronnie Roberts; father and mother-in-law Karlo and Lenora Johnson; sister-in-law Penny Johnson; brothers-in-law Everette, Walter, John, Larry, and Fred Johnson.

Judy is survived by her children: Tina (Keith) Olson of Andover, MN, and Debbie Meek of Ramsey, MN; her grandchildren:  Jessica Johnson-Quade, Amber Olson, Tyler Olson, Amber Johnson, Samantha Meek, Amanda Meek, and Abby Olson; her sisters: Sharon (Randy) Dalluge and Connie (Stephen) McComb; her brothers: Gerald (Peg) Roberts, Dean (Lynn) Roberts, and Arlin (Grace) Roberts; sisters-in-law: Nancy Hill, Delite Lee, and Cindy (Bob) Gaasvig, brother-in-law Toivo (Lori) Johnson, many nieces and nephews, and Alan's fiancée Roberta Elkins and children Kearra, Koden, and Kendra.

A Public Visitation will be held on Saturday (9/19/2020) from 10-11 AM and PRIVATE Service for family will be at 11 AM at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, 2005 Branch Ave, Anoka.
