Joyce Folkerts (Lindberg) passed away peacefully under hospice care October 19, 2019 at the age of 85, after about a decade of living with Alzheimer's.

Joyce grew up in Minneapolis, graduated from Minneapolis South High School, attended North Central Bible College, worked as a secretary, and attended the Minneapolis Gospel Tabernacle where she met, fell in love with, and married Charles Lindberg.  Her life then revolved around marriage and family, and she enthusiastically enjoyed family time;  camping, BWCA canoeing, skiing in Colorado, taking motorcycle trips, and spending time at Jessie Lake. Her hearty, good-natured laugh will always be remembered fondly. Joyce's faith in Jesus Christ was of utmost importance to her, and she loved her community at Park Assembly of God church where she attended for 40 years. Joyce married Dennis Folkerts in 2006 and they together enjoyed time traveling south in winters and years of companionship before she entered a memory care facility in 2017.

Joyce is preceded in death by parents Arvid & Sarah Carlson; husband of 47 years, Charles Lindberg; infant son, Bobby; brothers, Arnold, Melvin, & Wally (Joyan) Carlson; sisters, Esther Carlson, Lorraine (Bill) Thomsen; brother-in-law, Al Paulson.
Survived by husband, Dennis; daughter, Julie (Eric) Ness; son, Gary (Lynette) Lindberg; grandchildren, Linnea Ness, Ben Ness, Erin Lindberg, Noah Lindberg; sister, Muriel Paulson; sister-in-law, Elisabeth Carlson; many loved nephews, nieces, and friends.

Memorial service will be held Thursday 11am October 31st, New Hope Church, 4225 Gettysburg Ave, New Hope. Visitation 1 hour prior to service. Interment, Mamre Cemetery, Fosston, MN.  In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Mamre Cemetery or Marcell Community Church, Marcell, MN.
