Joyce Faye Bernu (nee Ward) age 74, of Dayton, Mn. Born 3/24/1936 in Hallock, Mn. and passed away 3/9/2011 in her home surrounded by her family. She was Miss Ely in 1954 and competed in the St. Paul Winter Carnival. With her career in the travel industry, she and John were able to see much of the world. Preceded in death by parents; sisters, Marlene Klegstad and Cindy Akemann. Survived by loving husband of 53 years, John; sons, Greg (Jan), Stu and Barry; granddaughters, Katie and Emily; siblings, Judy (Rod) Mosher, Garry (Jan), Brian (Nancy), Jon (Laura) and Tom (Joey) Ward; brother-in-law, Bob Akemann; many other relatives and friends. Funeral service Monday 11 AM at Zion Lutheran Church, 1601 - 4th Ave. S., Anoka. Visitation 1 hour prior to service. Private interment. Memorial preferred to ALS Society of Mn.
