Joy Louise Pederson

Joy 78, born Dec. 22, 1942, passed away at home in St. Francis on Dec. 29 ^th , 2020. She was the oldest of seven children born to Claire and Shirley Stenson. As a child she lived in Minneapolis until her parents moved to Coon Rapids. Joy graduated from Anoka High School in 1960. Joy and her husband lived in Alaska for a short time but ultimately made St. Francis their home. She worked for Independent School District 15 for many years until she retired. She enjoyed painting on occasion and watching the birds from her dining room table. She loved making a trip to Burger King to get her favorite treat; a whopper Jr and fries. She spent time with friends going to the casino and out to lunch or dinner whenever possible. She is survived by her sons Richard T. (Angie), Allen (Heidi), Darek, daughter Pamela (Dennis) Muehlbauer, grandchildren Dalton, Garret, Ethan, Graycey Jo, Nicholas, Crystal and Sara, brothers Randy (Rachel) and Kevin (Jackie), sisters Jackie (Jack) VanZelst, Julia (Don) Nelson. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard A. Pederson, grandson Travis Pederson, brothers Terry and Timothy Stenson. Celebration of life will be held at a later date when we can have more family and friends together.
