Parsons, John Merle of Coon Rapids. John was a faithful servant of the Lord and devoted family man. He passed away from heart complications on March 19 following a lifetime of blessings. John was born in Owatonna to Evelyn and Rod Misgen on March 15, 1929 and was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Jim. John volunteered and served in the Korean War with the U.S. Army Engineers, his unit that he was so proud of. He graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College and earned a master's degree from the University of MN and taught English there while helping coach football under Murray Warmath. John coached and taught at several locations including West Concord, Mpls De LaSalle, Hastings and Anoka Ramsey in MN as well as Tomahawk and Auburndale, WI. He had a heart overflowing with love and generosity and loved to entertain family and friends with his singing. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Lillian "Lill"; sons, Jack (Vicki), Rick (Debbie), Mark, Mike and Paul (Lisa); 10 grandchildren; and 3 great- grandchildren.
