IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John Leslie
Hall
November 8, 1952 – March 7, 2026
John L. Hall, age 73 of Anoka, Minnesota, passed away on March 7, 2026. John was born on November 8, 1952, to Vincent and Jeanette Hall. John grew up in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota. He married his wife Lynn in April of 1982 and moved to Anoka.
John worked most of his career at the City of St. Paul, Parks and Recreations Division as a mechanic and later as Equipment Services Manager. He was responsible for maintaining and managing the fleet equipment for the City of St. Paul that was used throughout the entire park system.
John had a natural mechanical mind and was known for being able to repair, modify, or build almost anything. He enjoyed working in the garage, inventing solutions to problems, and taking on projects that required creativity and mechanical skill.
John enjoyed fishing and spending time up at the cabin. He loved being outdoors. In his younger years John enjoyed scuba diving and riding motorcycles. John had a love for animals, especially his bulldogs and cats, and took care to feed the neighborhood squirrels and birds.
John had a quick wit and playful sense of humor. He was always making a joke and sometimes telling the same one over and over. He loved making people laugh. He also loved to sing, often teaching songs to his parrot, Cato. He had a great singing voice, just ask him.
John valued time with his family more than anything,
He is survived by his wife, Lynn; his daughters, Karen and Jessica; grandchildren, Evan (Kenzie), Stella (Aftyn), and Greta; and great grandson, Mason. He is survived by brother Chuck (Kitty) and sister, Carol (Mike), and many extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Jan.
A memorial gathering will be held April 24th, 2026, from 5:00-8:00 pm at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
