John Michael (Buddy) Sahlen, age 44 of Lino Lakes, MN passed away too soon on July 13, 2026. 

Buddy was a kind and loving man known for his gift of humor, always making people laugh. He worked as a roofer for many years and plowed snow in the winter. He often had his head under the hood of a car. He was talented when it came to working on cars and doing home repairs. He played piano, and loved karate, motorcycles, dirt bikes, anything with an engine and wheels and he also loved snowboarding in Utah with his sons, his brother and family . He loved his cats, Oliver and Sweetie. He once said that every morning he thought of three things that he was grateful for. 

He will be missed by so many. Buddy is survived by his two sons, Logan Sahlen (Olivia) and Keegan Keene; mother, Julie Larsen; father, John C. Sahlen; sister, Andrea Hembroff (Peter); brother, Matthew Larsen (Tiffany) and many nephews, a niece, a beloved aunt "Juju" a great aunt, uncles, cousins and other extended family. 

A Celebration of his Life will be on Tuesday, July 21st 2026 at Thurston DeShaw funeral home at 13817 Jay St NW Andover, MN 55304 with visitation at 10:00am, service at 11:00am with lunch to follow.
