Mockenhaupt, Jody Nov. 18, 1969 Nov. 22, 2017 passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, November 22. Jody was born and raised in Coon Rapids, MN. At 3 years old, she survived a rare type of cancer, and persevered with strength and resilience. Although her treatment caused many life- long side effects, Jody continued to live an independent life and was an inspiration to many people. Jody loved volunteering at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids, MN for many years. She also enjoyed making Christmas Angels as gifts for friends and family. Jody's family was most important in her life, and she was a very proud Aunt and Godmother. Some of Jody's favorite activities included playing Bingo, eating chocolate, and shopping. Jody is preceded in death by her mother, DiAnn Smith. She is survived by her father, Paul (Corky) Mockenhaupt (Helen) of Nevis, MN, twin brother David Mockenhaupt (Michael McKay) of Minneapolis, MN, brother Dan Mockenhaupt (LeAnne) and nephew (Josh) of Pease, MN, as well as step-siblings, aunts, uncles, and cousins and friends, whom she loved dearly. A celebration of Jody's life will be held Saturday, December 2, 2017, at Thurston Funeral Home in Anoka, MN. Visitation from 10am 12pm with a short service held at 12pm. Luncheon to follow.
