Murray (Lahren), Jessie D. age 101, of Anoka, MN, formerly of Wahpeton, ND. Jessie was born Sept. 27, 1912 in Breckenridge, MN. to Hans and Jessie (McDonald) Siewerdsen.
She attended Breckenridge High School, graduating in the class of 1930 and attended two years at the North Dakota State School of Science in the Secretarial Department.
She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church, Wahpeton, ND, where she was a church secretary for 22 years, retiring in Nov. 1982.
She married Horace Lahren of Wahpeton on Aug. 2, 1936, who preceded her in death on Sept. 21, 1964.
In July, 1982, she married Dr. George Murray and they moved to Lake Worth, FL in Nov. of that year.
She also worked for 11 years as secretary for I.E. Lillegard, Implement Co., and 11 years for the Richland County Welfare Office. She was church organist for many years; Senior Choir accompanist for over 40 years; pianist for both Rotary club and Kiwanis Club, pianist for Senior Citizens Choir for several years, and also accompanied the church Childrens' Choirs for many years.
She was a member of the Wahpeton Order of Eastern Star, and the Wahpeton Homemakers Club.
She is preceded in death by spouses Horace Lahren and Dr. George Murray, brother Harold Siewerdsen and sister, Bernice Connell. Survived by children Roderick (Cheryl) Lahren, Bonnie (Rick) Lahren Thompson, Dr. William (Louise) Murray and Linda (Bill) Tiller; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; many other family and friends. Funeral service Tuesday, 5 PM, May 20, 2014, at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 14501 Nowthen Blvd. NW, Ramsey, MN. Visitation one hour prior to service. Interment Wed., 1 PM, May 21, 2014, at Fairview Cemetery, Wahpeton, ND. (weather permitting).
