Preceded in death by parents, Walter and Dora Jacob, and brother, Robert. A four-year letterman in football, basketball and baseball, Jerry graduated from Anoka High School in 1945. He then served in the Army as part of the Japan Occupation Force at the conclusion of World War II. Upon his return, he attended the University of Minnesota, graduating with a Law degree in 1955. He returned to Anoka, where he practiced Law and raised his family. As a lifelong resident, Jerry was passionate about his hometown. He served Anoka as a City Commissioner, on numerous committees, and until recently as a member of the Heritage Preservation Commission. In later years his love of history, genealogy and the outdoors was manifested by his participation in the Lewis and Clark Trail Heritage Foundation. Jerry was a devoted husband and father, and was intensely proud of his children and grandchildren. An eternal optimist, he was always able to find cause for hope, even as he struggled with illness in his later years. His wisdom, integrity and sense of humor will be greatly missed.
