Mortenson, Jeanne Marie, age 91 of Anoka, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom, daughter, Ann and infant son, Nicholas. Survived by children, Sally Higgins, Eric (Luck), Jane Mortenson and Jon (Angie), grandchildren, Michael and Nick, other relatives and many friends. Jeanne was a devoted mother and teacher, both at Blaine High School and Roosevelt Middle School. She was a Stephen's Minister at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Anoka. Jeanne had a passion for tutoring ESL students and fostering mental health. She served in the Peace Corps from 1981 to 1983 in Liberia. Jeanne was at her best when serving others. Mass of Christian Burial Friday, 10:30 a.m. at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, 525 Jackson Street, Anoka. Interment Calvary Cemetery, Anoka. Visitation 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, 2005 Branch Avenue, Anoka and also one hour prior to the Mass at church. Vigil Prayers 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
