IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jean Eleanor
Rux
August 15, 1930 – July 20, 2021
Jean Eleanor Rux nee Soiney passed away on July 20th, 2021.
Jean is survived by two daughters; Linda Wellman and Laurie Ronallo, grandchildren; Terry Wellman, Kristi Ronallo (Russell Paumen), and Brandon Ronallo, great granddaughter; Stella Ronallo. She is preceded in death by her loving husband; Clayton Rux, parents; Walter and Tillie Soiney, sister; Dorothy Smith and twin brother Clayton Soiney.
Jean was born in Thief River Falls on August 15th, 1930. Being a twin, she was extremely small. Her mother had a home birth and no one thought Jean would live. They swaddled her up and kept an eye on her and Jean surprised them all being tiny, but mighty. She stayed that way her whole life! Growing up, her family was a hard-working farming family. While Jean was still young, it was discovered her mother had MS. Jean's parents had to sell the farm, and move to a smaller home to make it easier. Jean finished high school and at the age of 17, met Clayton Rux.
Clayton and Jean married on November 27th, 1949.
Clayton and Jean were married for 68 years when Clayton passed away in 2017. They made their home in Thief River Falls during the early part of their marriage. In 1967, Jean took their daughters to St. Paul and they stayed with Jean's sister and her family while their eldest daughter underwent back surgery. Clayton continue working in Thief River Falls and would come down to the cities on the weekends to visit. Soon, Clayton found work in the Anoka area and they were able to purchase a small house in rural Anoka (now Ramsey). In 1972, Clayton and Jean built their dream home that they lived in for over 45 years.
Jean worked hard her whole life and loved to stay busy. She loved and enjoyed her family and friends and was always helping and caring for someone. Jean was a wonderful cook and was always happy to have big dinners with the family gathered around. She made all holidays special. Even as her grandchildren became adults, Jean would still fill the "Santa" stockings, and hide an Easter basket with candy and a gift.
After Clayton and Jean retired in 1991 from Federal Cartridge, they enjoyed traveling out west to Montana and Arizona to visit friends, and back home to Thief River Falls to see family for deer hunting and the family reunions. Their favorite pastime was dancing to country western music. They were wonderful dancers and even would dance in their laundry room sometimes when listening to good music.
Jean will always be remembered as the kindest, sweetest person (and usually the smallest!) in the room. Her presence will always be missed here on Earth, but we are all comforted by the fact that she and Clayton are reunited in Heaven. A private internment will be held for both Clayton and Jean at a later date.
