Jason Hofstad, loving father, passed away peacefully at age 48 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids, MN.
Jason lived a full life while he was with us. At age 18, he joined the Coast Guard, which brought him to stations in Florida and New Hampshire. He loved being on the water and exploring the less-traveled corners of the Caribbean as well as the historic beauty of the Northeast. Later in life, he shared this same sense of adventure with his son, Trevor. Together, they visited National and State Parks, lakes, and cities across the United States.
Growing up, Jason enjoyed playing hockey and tennis. As he got older, golf and pickleball became his competitive passions. In addition, he treasured sitting next to a bonfire at the house with his son. It was not uncommon for a cigar to accompany him in many of his activities. He was always an avid reader; this provided the fuel for his intellectual curiosity. Everyone who had the pleasure of getting to know Jason was influenced by his laughter, joy, and contagious cheer.
Jason is survived by his son, Trevor; his parents, Roger and Carol; brother's family: Luke, Asmita, Arav and Asha; Tammy, mother to his son, and step-daughter, Brianna. A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 24 from 4-7 PM at Thurston-Deshaw Funeral Home, 13817 Jay St. NW, Andover, to celebrate Jason's life.
