Ryan, James F. age 69, of Blaine, suddenly passed away April 2, 2012 of pancreatic cancer. He was born Sept. 6, 1942 in Chicago, IL. James was a lifetime member of the Mailers Union and worked for the Wall Street Journal, Quino Press, Daily News, Sun Times and Chicago Tribune in Chicago, before moving to MN in 1986 where he worked for the Star Tribune until retirement in 2008. He was preceded in death by parents, James (Bud) and Amy Cikanek Ryan; wives, Michele Burson Ryan and Alice Solner Ryan. Survived by sons, James M. (Diane) and Michael; loving girlfriend of 10 years, Barbara Stringer; brother, Michael (Julia) of Hinsdale, IL; and many other loving family and friends. Funeral service Thursday 11 AM, with visitation one hour prior to service at Thurston- DeShaw Funeral Home, 13817 Jay St. NW, Andover.
