Interment Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. James Loren Moe, son of Loren and Jean Moe was born on May 1st, 1959. He was a protective brother to his two younger sisters, Tammy and Denise. Growing up, Jim spent hours outside, eating canned beans in the woods, playing soccer, and improving his safety skills as a Boy Scout. During his teen years, he repaired car engines and made memories with his friends down in the basement - watching the Vikings "almost" win. His passion for the outdoors made him successful as a soldier but his thrill for adventure made him one of the few parachute troopers of the time. While in the Army, he was awarded the 'The Army Commendation Medal' for his outstanding expertise and proficiency as a mortarman. He also became a star gazer, where he spent nights identifying constellations. His military leave was often spent riding motorcycles and creating memories with his old buddies. Jim had a love for learning.  After a motorcycle accident, he used his GI Bill to attend school, first for optical technology, then for machining and CNC. He followed that with an associate of applied science, a Bachelor of Science in information technology and finally with a certification as a CNA. He was the father of four children, John "Ted", Kurri, Reed and Kindsey. Jim's passion for the outdoors continued as he built the family cabin by hand. Here, he taught all his children how to build fires, light epic fireworks, shoot a gun, and go fishing. Jim was known as the "Perch King''. He enjoyed many deer hunting trips with his friends, traipsing through knee-high snow. His three grandchildren, Serenity, Alaythia, and Michael added much joy to his life. He loved to spend time with them and share his love of gardening, fishing and the outdoors.  His time "off the grid" was embraced at the cabin but also at his home in Anoka where he spent his last few years watching the neighbors walk their dogs. He shared his meals with Churchill, his loving and slightly overweight King Charles Cavalier. On November 1st, 2022, James passed away peacefully in his sleep.
