Age 86 of Mesa, AZ and formerly of St. Paul, MN Passed away on December 12, 2015. He was born on July 25, 1929 in Webster, South Dakota to Charles and Louise Hinkley. Jim worked as a research chemist at 3M for 40 years. He is pre-deceased in death by his parents; his son, Douglas; brother Ted; and sister, Harriet. Jim is survived by Patricia, loving wife of 62 years; daughters Karen (John) Leif and Linda (Bruce) VanDenBoom; daughter-in-law Susan; grandchildren Monica Leif, Ryan Leif, Jake Hinkley; brothers Kenneth (Liz) and Robert; and numerous nieces and nephews. Service will be held on Saturday, December 19 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, 2005 Branch Avenue, Anoka, MN. Visitation 10:00-11:00 a.m. with service following. Interment immediately following at Champlin Cemetery, 812 Cartway Road, followed by reception at Anoka American Legion, 400 W. Main Street. Memorials to Hospice of the Valley.
