Obituary

James A. DuCharme, 84, of Champlin, MN, passed away on Dec. 1, 2025.

Jim was born in Saxon, WI, to Arthur and Anna (Ylitalo) DuCharme on July 26, 1941. He was a graduate of Saxon High School and served in the Army National Guard on Active Duty at the start of the Viet Nam War. Jim married Mary Jo Traczyk in 1969.

Jim worked in construction in the Milwaukee area before moving to Minneapolis where he owned and operated his own drywall business for many years until his retirement. Even after retirement he continued small construction projects for friends and family.

Even though Jim lived in the Minneapolis area for many years, he always considered Saxon home. He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to fish at the Mouth of the Montreal and Potato River falls, and he enjoyed hunting and snowmobiling in the area. He was a lifelong Packers fan. Jim loved to visit with family and friends and always had something to chat about or a great story to tell.

In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by son Jim DuCharme Jr; daughter, Michele DuCharme Rauma; four grandsons: Tyson, Chase, Triton and Christian; brothers-in-law, Tim (Betsy), Mark (Jackie) and Jeff (Jan) Traczyk; sisters-in-law, Gail DuCharme, Carol DuCharme, Jean Ann (Greg) Jacobson, Robin Traczyk, Betty (Doug) Anderson, and Carrie Hudacek.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings Art, Earl, Gerald, Frank, Barry, Paul, Bob and June (Saari); father and mother in-law, Joe and Mary Alice Traczyk; and other family.

Following Jim's wishes, there will be no funeral. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
