James Walter Dehn, age 93, of Dayton, Minnesota, passed away on Monday June 19, 2023.
He was born on June 17th, 1930 to Theodore and Eleanor Dehn. As a child, James worked hard on the family farm. During the Korean war, he served his country as a Marine from 1952 to 1954, stationed in Japan for six months. When he returned from service, he proposed to Bernadette Zachman, and they married in June of 1955.
During their time together, they enjoyed working on their own farm. Farming was his life, but retirement did not slow him down. He was always busy and on the go making custom tractor cabs and trailers. James also enjoyed woodworking and travelling with his wife.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Harold (Lila), Gordon, Norbert (Hellen), LeRoy, Leora (Howard) Lahn, Delores (Alex) DeMars, Rita (Donald) Pouliot, Helen (Gordy) Bongaarts; brother-in-law, Roger Picotte; grandson, Nathan Rogahn.
James is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Bernadette; daughter, JoAnn (Doug) Rogahn; grandchildren, Dan and Kim (Wayne) Crittenden, great-grandchildren, Talena and Athena Crittenden; sister, Marie Picotte; brother, Ron (Marie); sisters-in-law, Norene Dehn and Margaret Dehn.
An evening visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 27th at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home in Anoka from 4-7pm. A Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, June 28th at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Anoka, starting at 11am with a morning visitation one hour prior.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in memory of James to the charity of the donors choice.
