Harry Edward
Erickson
Mar 4, 1946 — Jun 23, 2026
Harry Edward Erickson passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on June 23, 2026 due to complications of bladder cancer. He was 80 years old. Harry is preceded in death by his mother Lucille (Papke) Jenner, brother Wayne Erickson, sister Kitty Lou (Robert) Lund, and son-in-law Harlan George.
Harry is survived by his loving wife Deanna "Kay" (Nelson) Erickson, brother Larry (Shari) Erickson, sister Elizabeth (Roger) Geist, children Tammy George, Teresa (Ted Sporlein) Wilson, Scott (Karyl) Levang, Tracy (Steve) Boylan, Heidi (David) Buonfiglio and Shaun Erickson.Harry also leaves behind 22 Grandchildren, 27 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great-Great Grandchild along with nieces and nephews. Harry was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on March 4, 1946. He graduated from Anoka High School and joined the U.S. Army.
Harry and Kay met at the Armory in Anoka and moved to Andover, MN before settling in their last home in Cedar, Minnesota in 1973. They were married on February 14, 1975. He worked at a Gas station/Auto repair as a manager and taught the kids good work habits as he had free help from them helping him do his job. He then worked at Kottkes Bus Service in Andover until becoming a machinist at Kurt Manufacturing. He then moved on to Remmele Engineering in Big Lake where he eventually retired. When Harry and Kay met, Kay already had four children that Harry welcomed with open arms. This amazing man took on a family that he did not have to. He has said that having a family was very important to him. He took the responsibility of raising them and soon after two more children followed making a family of eight. Harry would joke that it was sometimes hectic and the craziest of times, but he loved his family regardless of how hard he had to work to provide for them.
Harry enjoyed teasing and joking around with everyone he met and took jokes back with a silly look then a smile or laugh. Many of the best one liners would be between Harry and his brother Larry. The other family members would laugh and enjoyed when the two would be aimed at each other, leaving the rest of the family off the hook for the next few jokes. We never knew who would be the next to be teased. Harry went to and participated in car shows and would bring his red 1968 Chevrolet Impala SS 427 and looked so proud showing it. He treated it as if was one of his kids and he would light up if someone wanted to see it and he would supply information whether or not you wanted to know. A son, brother, uncle, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great-great grandfather, he will be so very missed and will be loved forever by his "family". We lost an amazing man but he is with the Lord now. Until we meet again, your family loves you and will keep laughing with you.
Celebration of life will be on August 22, 2026 at 410 Viking Blvd. NE Cedar, MN 55011 from 11am to 3pm with a small ceremony at 1pm. Bring a story or memory to share with family and friends.
