Obituary

Nelson, Harley M. Passed away peacefully on January 23, 2011 at the age of 87. A longtime resident of Anoka, Harley was a Milaca High School graduate, a WWII Navy veteran and a retiree from the Rural Cooperative Power Assoc. in Elk River. An avid fisherman, he was also an enthusiastic Minnesota professional and collegiate sports fan and a loyal member of the Sons of Norway. Preceded in death by his parents, Obed & Emma; brothers, Burton and Robert, and sisters, Beatrice Coffman and Joyce Nietzle. Survived by beloved wife of 66 years, Audrey; son, Gary (Mary); daughter, Wendy (David) Cook; brothers, Rodney and Buzz; grandchildren, Christine (Bruce Vandal), Steven (Jackie), Brian (Leslie), Jon (Melissa) Nelson, and James (Kimberly) Small; as well as 9 great-grandchildren & numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation Friday, Jan. 28, 10 AM, Zion Lutheran Church, 1601 4th Ave., Anoka, with funeral service at 11 AM. Burial later in the day at Forest Hills Cemetery, Milaca, MN.
