H. Arlene Peterson, age 80, of Roseville and formerly Anoka, MN, passed away on Saturday, August 5th, 2023.
Arlene was born on October 15, 1942, in Bellingham, WA. She was the youngest of eight children, and she graduated from Ferndale High School in 1960. She then attended Bethel University from 1960 to 1961; on August 24, 1962, Arlene married her husband of 60 years, John Peterson, before finishing her college education at St. Cloud State University in 1966. She majored in elementary education and began her teaching career in the Spring Lake Park school district, and then finished in the Anoka Hennepin school district at Monroe Elementary School.
Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, Gunner and Hazel Friberg; brother, Paul; and sons, Kent and Greg Peterson.
She is survived by her husband, John Peterson; daughter, Kitri (Mark) Boser; daughter-in-law, Debbie Peterson; her five grandchildren, Caden Boser, Will Boser, Charlie Boser, Cally Peterson ,and Connor Peterson; sisters, Margaret Johnson, Lorraine Orwig, Madelyn Hofman, Norma Jacobson, Alice Schroeder; brother, John Friberg; and many nieces and nephews.
Arlene was devoted to her family as a wife, mother, and grandmother. Much of her favorite family time was spent at the family's cabin on Lake Florida.
Arlene's exceptional sense of humor was one of her many gifts. Her friendships were many and they all involved lots of laughter.
Her Memorial Service will take place on Wednesday, August 16th at Thurston-DeShaw Funeral Home in Andover. The Service will begin at 2pm, with a visitation one hour prior.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to Children's Shelter of CEBU, or to Eagle Brook Church.
