Sorteberg, Gregory Peter age 65, of Anoka passed away on February 24, 2022. He was born December 19, 1956, the fourth of seven children of Richard and Carolyn Sorteberg of Anoka. Preceded in death by grandparents Peter & Ida Sorteberg, and Alfred & Bernadine Tyler. Greg is survived by his loving parents Richard & Carolyn and six siblings, Corrin Sorteberg, LeAnn (Frank) Simpson, Scott Sorteberg, Peter (Lisa) Sorteberg, Karen Sorteberg, and Paul (Kris) Sorteberg. He also leaves behind eight nieces and nephews, Christine, Andy, Ashley, Matt, Jake, Emma, Tricia, and Alex along with many cousins and friends that will mourn his loss. He attended Anoka High School and graduated in 1975. Greg was a stand-out athlete in hockey and baseball. He took up cross-country skiing in his 30s and raced in the American Birkebeiner in Hayward, Wisconsin several times. But it was his natural ability on the golf course that was the envy of anyone who played with him. His most recent job in retirement last summer was mowing the Links at Northfork golf course every weekday morning. We can only imagine how many Aces he added to the score card in his head. Greg was an accomplished home and deck builder. Many houses in the neighborhoods he lived are graced with the beautiful decks he designed and built. He will also be remembered as the rare man who loved cats and more or less tolerated dogs. Rest in peace, Dear Greg, you were well loved.
