Stickler, Glenda Lavila age 87 of Fridley, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2021 after a 3 year courageous battle with cancer at her home in Fridley. Glenda was born on the family farm in Elmore Township on October 8, 1933 to Alfred and Edna Goltz. She was baptized and attended St. John's Parochial Country School and Elmore High School, graduating valedictorian in 1951. She married Donald Larry Stickler in 1954. She enjoyed raising a family, daughter, Kimberly and son, Rodney. One of her true accomplishments was helping her husband Larry build their own home in Elmore MN, wall to wall. They moved to the Twin Cities in 1963 to accept a better job opportunity in the "Big City". They then bought their forever home in Fridley in 1964, only to be nearly blown away by killer tornadoes of 65. She had a number of jobs including Holiday Discount Store, a teller at Fridley State Bank, and Purchasing Department at Kurt Manufacturing till her retirement in 1999. Glenda enjoyed her grand kids, great grand kids, her yard, flower and vegetable gardens and canning those special crops. Birds always fascinated her and she loved to watch and feed them, in feeders given as gifts from family and friends. Glenda was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church for 50 plus years in Mounds View. The Lord has blessed her life in many ways. Glenda was preceded in death by husband, D. Larry Stickler; parents; two brothers; and sister, Margaret Johnson. She is survived by daughter, Kimberly Christianson; son, Rodney Stickler; adopted great-granddaughters, Pooquelle and Skylar Vincent Christianson; grandchildren, Jarrod (JoDee) Christianson and Tracey Christianson; great-grandchildren, Coby, Kyra, and Tyce Christianson, Mahkya, JaVeon and Jamaria Christianson; sister, Rosie; and brother, Milo. Memorial service 12 noon Tuesday (3/30/2021) at Messiah Lutheran Church, 2848 County Rd. H2, Mounds View. Visitation 1 hour prior to service.
