IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gerald Wayne
Kramer
August 29, 1943 – October 17, 2025
Gerald "Gerry" Kramer, age 82, of Elk River, Minnesota, passed away on October 17, 2025, surrounded by family and love. Born in August 1943 on a small farm in Tracy, Minnesota, Gerry grew up during the backdrop of World War II - a time that shaped his lifelong appreciation for hard work, resourcefulness, and the simple value of a dollar. From the start, he was a doer, a fixer, and someone who believed that effort mattered. Gerry proudly served his country as an Army aviation mechanic, a role that deepened his love of machinery and precision. After his military service, he built a long and loyal career with BAE Systems, where his dedication, skill, and quick humor earned the respect of all who worked alongside him. A proud Army veteran and member of the American Legion, Gerry never met a stranger. Whether he was chatting with someone at the gas station or in line at the grocery store, conversation came easily - often starting with, "That's a nice car you've got there." His love of cars was surpassed only by his love of a good meal, and he firmly believed that life's best moments happened at the table, surrounded by good company. Behind his easy laugh and sturdy handshake was a deeply compassionate and quietly sentimental man. Gerry kept every card ever sent to him - a small, tender testament to how deeply he valued the people in his life. He is survived by his beloved wife, Ervina Kramer; son Richard Allen; grandchildren Lisa Allen and Joseph Allen; and his brothers, Donald and Vergil Kramer; sister Christine Miller; and nephew Brian Kramer. Gerry was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings, who now welcome him home with love. A celebration of Gerry's life will be held on Wednesday, 29 October 2025, at the United Methodist Church of Anoka (850 South Street, Anoka, MN 55303). Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by a service at noon and a lunch at 1:00 p.m. in true Gerry fashion—because no good story should ever be told on an empty stomach. Those who knew Gerry will remember him not only for the engines he fixed, but for the hearts he lifted. His kindness, curiosity, and laughter will continue to travel every road he once did—with warmth, humor, and just the right touch of sentiment.
