Goeden, George M. age 91, of Andover. Loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grand-father, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2015 surroun- ded by his loved ones. George was born Oct. 8, 1923, son of Paul & Julia Goeden in Menominee, NE. George married Rita Kathol in 1947 and they farmed in Nebraska. In 1955, they purchased a farm by Aldrich, MN and in 1991 retired to Andover, MN. George lived a full life raising 12 children and immensely enjoyed his grandchildren and friends. He embraced life enjoying hunting, fishing, traveling, avid reading and card playing. He is survived by 11 children & spouses, Charles (Sharon) Goeden, Allan (Dorothy) Goeden, Thomas (Janice) Goeden, Jolene (Richard) Goeden-Massuch, Paulette (Alfred Morin) Goeden, Harold (Kristine) Goeden, Alice (Philip) Hassler, Rosalie (Steven) Wilson, Marjory (Joseph) Piere, Eva (Tom) Pohl, Kathy (Michael) Anderson and son-in-law, Charles Moerke; 40 grandchildren and 56 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rita and his oldest child, Patricia Moerke; 3 brothers and 4 sisters. Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Monday, Jan. 26, 2015, with reviewal one hour prior at The Church of St. Patrick of Cedar Creek, 19921 Nightingale St. NW, Cedar. Visitation from 4-7 PM Sunday at Thurston-DeShaw Funeral Home, 13817 Jay St. NW, Andover. Interment St. Patrick's Cemetery. Donations will be given to Catholic Charities.
