IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gary Edward
Ingebritson
August 4, 1947 – July 30, 2024
Gary Edward Ingebritson, age 76, passed away on July 30, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, Orville & Joyce and only sibling, brother, Gene.
Gary was born and raised in Staples, MN. He graduated from Staples High School before enlisting in the US Navy by his father's insistence to avoid an army draft. While in the Navy, he served on both the USS Ticonderoga and USS Enterprise during the Vietnam War fueling fighter jets and performing flight deck duties. Through his service he was able to travel the world and site-see on shore leaves. After his military service, Gary moved to Anoka County to start his family and career as a machinist. A significant portion of his career was spent at Onan Corporation in Fridley, MN.
Raised on a dairy farm, Gary was very mechanically inclined. He was extremely handy, able to fix nearly anything, enjoyed working with tools, tuning engines, and operating tractors and machinery.
During retirement Gary regularly helped his son, Trevor, bale hay and cut firewood. He also routinely helped his daughter, Kelly, with her horses and related farm upkeep. Gary loved horses himself, having grown up with horses showing in parades and county races. Additionally, he enjoyed attending tractor pulls with both his sons, Jason & Trevor. But above all, he loved nothing more than helping his kids, dropping anything he was doing for whatever was needed.
Gary is survived by his three children, Jason (Laura), Trevor, and Kelly (Ted) and seven grandchildren, Ashley, Carter, Caitlin, Heidi, Nolan, Avery and Julia.
