Giddings, Garlan R. age 68, of Ramsey. Gar was born 5/11/1945 and died suddenly, and way too soon, on July 27, 2013. Preceded in death by father, George; mother, Beulah; and his faithful guide dog, Primo. He is survived and will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Nancy; daughters, Jennifer (Joshua), Elizabeth, Annie and Kari; grandchildren, Mary, Owen, Xander, Adrianna, and Tierney; siblings, Lela (Dennis), Sam (Janet), John, Lorelei (Michael), and Lael. Gar was a retired Wells Fargo employee where he worked as a computer engineer for 37 years. Gar was an avid bowler and a member of the American Blind Bowling Association. He was considered one of the top totally blind bowlers in the country with an average of 126 and a best score of 226. In 2007, Gar and his wife Nancy traveled to Australia where he participated as a member of Team USA in the International Blind Sports Association Blind Bowling Tournament. Gar earned a Bronze Medal in the Singles Scratch event for totally blind bowlers. He also finished in 4th place in the all around category. Gar was a member of Mpls Blind Bowlers and Super Rollers Bowling League. Gar was also a member of the Twin Cities Blind Audio Dart League. He also loved camping and traveling with his wife Nancy. Visitation Wednesday, 5-8 PM, at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, West Main St. & Branch Ave., Anoka. Private interment Garden of Hope Cemetery.
