IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Frances R.
'Franci' Iund
February 18, 1947 – August 24, 2020
Franci lund (Richards), age 73, of Oak Grove, passed away on 8/24/20. Let's take a minute to imagine that now, since being cremated, her urn is full of sparkle and glitter. (Smile) Her family, parents Frank and Clara, sisters Mary Ann Roy, Terry Groman; Kathy Dobisch, (who preceded her in death) surviving siblings, sister Pat (Mike) Morandi; brother, Marty Richards; and brother-in-law, Paul Groman, all called Anoka home from the beginning. Franci attended St. Stephen's Catholic Church/School, moving on to Anoka High School. She then worked at Ward Transfer (but who didn't??) and later in the Lab at Mercy Hospital until she retired. Franci met Jim in high school and they were married for 53 years! Along the way, they lived in Germany, Elk River and finally Oak Grove, where lifelong neighborhood friendships were made. The two of them enjoyed travelling to sunny spots with friends and family. They also had a blast in the snow, taking numerous snowmobile trips throughout the Midwest with the SnoGhosts snowmobile club, friends and neighbors. The family Franci gained from their half century union was a big part of Anoka and her heart. She was preceded in death by her father-in-law Ralf Iund; survived by loving husband of 53 years, Jim; mother-in- law Eunice Iund; sisters-in-law, Lynn (Milt) Hollinger, Pat Iund, Lorrie Terry; and brother- in-law Dan (Joan) Iund. Last but certainly not least are her children Jon and Jill, plus grandkids Dylan and Laylah. We're all who we are because of her. We were reminded of her strength and tenacity as she fought cancer for the past 2 years.* Franci was in remission before she left our world. Recently, while in the hospital "training" to get back home after a series of strokes, the doctors were impressed with her hidden powers, "I usually wear a Wonder Woman cape when I'm not in here." The one-liners were flowing with this lady! *Honorable mention to those who lifted her up to find that strength. Jim was at every appointment and learning new domestic chores along the way! Franci's friends were there to sit with her, bring food and comfort items and have late night gab sessions. Also, the doctors, nurses, physician assistants—just to name a few. All were crucial and appreciated by both Franci and Jim. If you didn't encounter Franci's smile and kindness from anything already mentioned, then perhaps it was volunteering at St. Pat's Country Fest, exchanging recipes or garden/flower knowledge, enjoying her famous canned pickles, out-and-about with the Red Hat's, swim class at the YMCA, various Girl's Trips or running into her while Shopping. We were given a gift to know and be loved by Franci. Please use that gift toward others. Bye now. Mass of Christian Burial September 11, 2020, 11am at St Patricks Catholic Church 19921 Nightingale St NW Oak Grove with a luncheon to follow.
