Fay Edwin More, age 87, of Andover, passed away on Saturday, April 20th, 2024, after a long battle with dementia. Fay was born in Mankato, MN, to Helen and Fay More, on August 19th, 1936. His 10 brothers and sisters, who he truly loved, referred to him as "Junie," short for Fay Junior. After leaving the farm, he proudly served in the Marines in San Diego for two years before heading back to Minnesota where he met his wife, Darlene.

Fay and Darlene were married on October 6th, 1962, and remained together until Darlene passed away in 2016. They were pretty much inseparable – spending time playing cards with friends, visiting casinos, enjoying cabin weekends with family, and winters in Arizona. They settled in Andover and had three children – Shelly, Sandy, and Mike.

Known for his sense of humor, he was always ready with a funny comment, and a friendly pat on the shoulder. He worked for over 30 years at Safway Scaffolding in Roseville, MN.

He is preceded in death by his parents, many brothers and sisters, and of course Darlene, all of whom will be waiting for him with warm reception, and probably a card game.

Fay is survived by his children, Shelly (Brian), Sandy (Rod), and Mike (Sara); grandchildren Amber, Mardi, Alyssa (Justin), Kelsey, Emily, Paige, Sam, and Olivia.

A Memorial Service will be held for Fay on Thursday, April 25th at Thurston - DeShaw Funeral Home at 13817 Jay Street NW in Andover, Minnesota, at Noon, with a visitation at 11 am, and a luncheon to follow the service. He will be buried at a later date at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
