Obituary

Everett Lee Kalbow Jr, 77, of Cedar, passed away on Friday, April 29, 2022.

Everett, "Junior", always had a great love of the outdoors and nature all together.  He loved to hunt, fish, work in his garden, take care of the birds and wildlife around his home and of course, cut wood.

In his younger years, he attended St. Francis High School and Minneapolis Business College. He then enjoyed success as a sales representative first in the Pet Industry, starting his own business, and then selling computers at Midland and for many years CPS. He married Nancy Priebe in November of 1992 and for the last 29 years they raised their children as one big family.  Everett celebrated 27 years of sobriety, dedicating much of his time and energy to the local club.   In retirement he was able to enjoy more time in the garden, (which seemed to duplicate in size every year), cutting wood and taking care of their many indoor and outdoor "pets".  He loved getting good deals at garage sales and Menards.  He and Nancy enjoyed spending time with their 9 children and 19 grandchildren, who inherited Everett's love of the outdoors.  They also traveled to historic cities and spent time at their place on the North Shore and at Breezy Point.

Everett was an adoring husband and loved his family and friends with all his heart.   He was an incredibly generous person, always offering to help and give.  You never left his house without a car full of stuff.  He loved to garden and cook and ultimately gave most of it away.   He was an extremely social, charismatic person whos' personality and charm filled the room.  He loved to tell jokes and stories and seemed to make a friend wherever he went.  You could always tell when he was getting towards the end of a joke because of the twinkle in his eye.  He truly loved his wife, family, friends and life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett Sr and Mary Kalbow; siblings, MaryLee Litchfield, Ron Strong, and Delbert Kalbow; and daughter, Karen Loenser.

He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; Children, Terri (Marty) Johnson, Dan (Kris) Kalbow, Michelle (Mike_ Isherwood, Brenda (Tony) Johnson, Kyle (Karin) Crone, James Priebe, Anna (TJ) Buhr, Sarah (Ardian) Goguen; 19 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Joe Strong and Marvin (Mary) Kalbow.
