Evelyn E. Dawson, age 98 of Anoka, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 15, 2020 at Guardian Angels Care Center in Elk River.

Evelyn and her husband, Harold, owned and operated Dawson's Meat Market on Ferry Street in Anoka from 1965 to 1982.

In addition to her parents, Jay and Leora (Allaben) Buchanan, Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Jay Dawson; grandchildren, Deanna Larson, Paul Weltz, and Kim Morton; brothers, Court and Gordon Buchanan; and son-in-law, Fodiaba Winston.  She is survived by her children, Wayne (Gail) Dawson, Brad (Ruth) Dawson, Janet (Gary) Hansen, Claudia Dawson, Coleen (Greg) Morton, and Tami Winston (Geno Bergmann); also survived by a large clan of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.

A private family Funeral Service will be held for Evelyn at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.  Interment will take place in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis.
