Evelyn "Evy" Wojkiewicz Chritton, 71, of Champlin passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2025.
She was born May 13, 1953, two months early, to her parents Jeanette and Steve Wojkiewicz.
She grew up with her sister Patricia in the Green Bay area. Her parents would fix up homes in the area so she moved often. She had many fond memories going to her grandparents farm. After her parents separated her mother would work as a housekeeper for churches. She went to Holy Name School in Sheboygan where she grew close to Christ.
She attended University of Wisconsin Stout and earned a degree in Home Economics and a minor in Journalism. She also was an editor of the Stoutonia newspaper. She had a dream to be a stay at home mom raising her children. After graduation from Stout she moved to California with her childhood friend Mary Lou Perflez.
Eventually she was led to Minnesota where she met her husband Dave Chritton while working at Daytons in downtown Minneapolis. They were married on April 1st, 1980. This was the beginning of a great love story. She later started working at Minnesota Title which later led to managing the Torrens Office for Hennepin County for about 8 years. They had 3 children Erin, Scott, and Andrew. She was sure to raise them in the Catholic faith which helped her stay strong during the storms of life. In 1999 she retired from Hennepin County Torrens office. When she was promoted to a full time job as stay at home mom to her three children.
She spent her days doing her favorite things. Cooking, cleaning, sewing, crafting, scrapbooking for her family. She always put her family first. She was also very involved in the community. She was a Girl Scout Troop Coordinator and leader. She was very involved in many church ministries including Adoration Coordinator, Summerfest the Kids Games Chair, Eucharistic Minister Coordinate at St Stephens in Anoka, MN. As her children grew up she became a craft instructor at Michaels, sharing her love of crafting with the community.
She is survived by her husband David. Her children Erin Miller (Matthew), Scott Chritton, Andrew Chritton-Janikowski (Forest). Her stepchildren Chad and Valerie. Her grandchildren Robin, Sandra, Caleb, David, Isaac, Lucilia, Francis and Maristella. As well as many of her cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents Jeanette (Jennie) and Steve Wojkiewicz. Her dear cousin Judy Young. As well as many of her aunts, and uncles.
Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, March 20, 2025 at 11 am at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, 525 Jackson Street, Anoka. Knights of Columbus Rosary at 9:45 am and visitation beginning at 10 am all at the Church prior to Mass. Interment Calvary Cemetery, Anoka. In lieu of flowers the family asks for memorials in her honor be given to Prolife Across America.
