Mortenson, Eugene M. "Gene" age 82 of Coon Rapids. ATTN: Pipefitter's Local #539. Gene was born on October 18, 1941 and passed away on October 21, 2023. Gene had a great sense of humor. He was a member of Pipefitter's Union Local #539 for over 50 years. After retirement he taught welding classes at Dunwoody. He loved to golf, fish and meet up with his friends for lunch. Preceded in death by parents Malte & Kathryn (Malaske) Mortenson, brothers Lawrence & John. Survived by wife Patricia "Patty", daughters Dawn (Tom) Wojcik, Tawnya (Ed) Boe and Skye (Greg) Riese, sons Kenny and Michael, grandchildren Jeff, Cassandra, Michael, Jake, Jade, Elisha, Zoe and Tobias, great-grandchildren CJ, Blake, Gavin, Lucas and Eden. A Celebration of Gene's life will be held on Friday, October 27, 2023 from 10:30 am until 12:30 pm at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, 2005 Branch Avenue, Anoka.
