Elizabeth J. "Betty" Koehler, age 88 of Minneapolis, formerly of Nowthen, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at the Jones-Harrison Residence in Minneapolis.

Betty was born on June 30, 1931 to Edward and Adeline (Haberman) Hazeman on a farm near Elk River.  She married Harold Koehler on September 26, 1950.  As a homemaker, Betty devoted her life to ensuring the needs of her family were always met and everyone was well taken care of.  Her Catholic faith was very important to her and she always made sure her children were dressed and ready for Mass.  Betty collected porcelain dolls and was a meticulous housekeeper who enjoyed cooking and baking, with sugar cookies and Christmas treats being among her specialties.  A highlight for each member of Betty's family was always receiving their own special box of treats!

The family wishes to express special Thanks to the nurses and staff at the Jones-Harrison Residence for all the love and care given to Betty over the past eight years.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Harold; sister, Lorraine Blanchette; and brother, Harvey Hazeman.  She is survived by her children, Eugene (Therese), Karen (Russ) Richey, and Kevin (Kathy); grandchildren, Aaron (Tina) and Brandon Richey, Sarah, Rachel, Sophia, and Joey Koehler; great-granddaughter, Lily Richey; brother, Don (Brenda) Hazeman; sister-in-law, MaryAnn Hazeman; also many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 2, 2019 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, 525 Jackson Street, Anoka.  Visitation one hour prior to Mass at church (10:00 - 11:00 a.m.)  Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery, Anoka.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Jones-Harrison Residence ( www.jones-harrison.org )
