Elaine Elenore Kappedahl, age 103 of Anoka, Minnesota passed away at her home on Sunday, August 30, 2026.

Elaine was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on June 21, 1923, the daughter of Casper and Hildu (Jacobson) Gesme. They lived in Hastings, Minnesota until the family moved to Cannon Falls, Minnesota in 1936. She graduated from Cannon Falls High School and later moved to Minneapolis and worked at Jensen Printing Company. She met Obert Kappedahl and they were married on June 28, 1947 in Cannon Falls, where they built their home. In 1959 they moved to Anoka, Minnesota where she did the bookkeeping for their Gambles Hardware store for seven years until the store closed. In retirement she and Obert enjoyed traveling and a winter home in Arizona. She was a member of bridge club, Circle at Zion, and Meals on Wheels. After Obert passed away in 2001, She met a life partner, Harold Hamilton in 2002 and travel continued along with winters in Arizona. Elaine was known by many for her delicious lemon pie and blonde brownies. Always a good cook!

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Obert, son Lee, life partner Harold Hamilton, in-laws and siblings Doris Gesme, Ruth (Fillmore) Spillman, Wendell (Rose) Gesme, Vivian (Kenneth) Brage, Harold (Lila) Gesme, and Luella (James) Chell, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Elaine is survived by her children, daughter Pamela Kappedahl and son Todd Kappedahl, granddaughters Laura Kappedahl, Alison (Brian) Hansen, Halee Kappedahl, grandsons, Kevin Morris, Daniel (Kimberly) Morris, 8 great grandchildren 3 great great grandchildren, sister Nadeen Anderson along with many nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services Thursday, September 10, 2026 at 11 am at Zion Lutheran Church, 1601 4th Avenue, Anoka. Visitation one hour prior to services at the church. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery, Anoka.
