IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Edward Francis
Keller
May 10, 1927 – November 11, 2018
Dr. Edward Keller, age 91, of Wayzata, MN, formerly of Dickinson, ND, passed away on Sunday, November 11, 2018 in Minneapolis, MN.
Ed was born May 10, 1927 in Strasburg, ND to Frank and Helen Keller. At age 14, he left ND for Brunnerdale Seminary HS in Canton, Ohio. After graduation, he was drafted in to the Army, after which he attended St. Thomas College in St. Paul, MN and Marquette University Dental School in Milwaukee WI. In 1955 he married Shirley Maloney, a nurse graduate from Milwaukee County in Milwaukee WI, and moved to Dickinson, ND. He practiced dentistry for 41 years and retired to a second career of writing and publishing books focused on his ancestors migration from Germany to Russia to North Dakota. Most believe dentistry was his livelihood but writing was his life.
He was an ardent member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church; he built the first free-standing dental office in Dickinson, was passionate about golf, and tirelessly promoted education at all levels. Ed is proud that his and Shirley's 7 children have college degrees.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Wilma Hagel and Mary Mattern; and brothers, Frank Keller and Debert Keller. He is survived by his wife, Shirley, 7 children, Ed, Ann, John, Mary, Tom, Joe, Paul, and their spouses; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Eleanor Maloney; and brother, Bill Keller.
