Shimek, Dorothy, V. age 93 of St. Paul, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Monday, August 11, 2014. She was born Dorothy Virginia Nordstrom in St. Paul, MN on August 19, 1920. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Walter; son, William; grandson, Steven Kemp; and great granddaughter, Madilyn McMonigal. Dorothy was a strong spirited woman who loved people, especially her family and friends. She was loved by all and will be truly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by 7 children, Edward, Judith (Bob) Lang, Debbie Hanson, Linda (Tom) McMonigal, Vicki, Nancee (Ben) Wiskus and Sue (Mike) Perry; 22 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Friday, Aug. 15 at 11 AM with a visitation one hour prior at Thurston-DeShaw Funeral Home, 13817 Jay St. NW, Andover.
