Nienaber, Donna D. nee Ystaas age 92, of Coon Rapids sadly left us on April 15th, 2022. Donna was born on November, 17, 1929, the ninth of nine children born to Ole and Syneva Ystaas in Sheyenne, ND. Donna grew up on the family farm, attending school across the road from the farmstead. Following her graduation from Maddock High School, Donna moved to the Twin Cities where she met the love of her life, Walter Nienaber. They wed on February 14th, 1959 and enjoyed 63 years of a blissful marriage while raising their family in Coon Rapids, MN. Donna enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, crafting, cheering on the Twins and Vikings, and shopping. Donna also loved to travel. She enjoyed many trips with her sisters, Millie and Bernice, and many fun trips to Vegas with family and friends. She loved camping with Edna and the rest of the Ness family. She especially enjoyed her many trips back to North Dakota to play and laugh with her siblings and their families. Donna's biggest passion in life was spending time with her family. She was her children and grandchildren's biggest fan. She rarely missed a ball game or activity of theirs. She continued to support them at every stage of life. Donna was a cook at Lynwood Healthcare for over 25 years. Donna is survived by her husband, Walter, her children, Michael, Diane (Robert), Zon (Caren) and Toni (Jim), grandchildren, Robert, Zachary (Kaitlin), Alexander (Brianna), Jacy, Jake, Andrew (Danielle), Jami (Darian) and 8 great grandchildren, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, family and friends. A memorial service to celebrate Donna's life will be held Friday, April 22nd at 11 am with visitation beginning at 10 am at Thurston DeShaw Funeral Home, 13817 Jay Street, NW Andover.
