Dolores Elaine Bies, age 97 of Anoka passed away on September 20, 2024. Dolores is survived her three children; Jim (Susan) of Sioux Falls, SD, Martha (Peter) Hauck from Brooklyn Park and Elizabeth (Vince) Smith of Baudette, MN; five grandchildren, Ryan and Erik Bies, Andrew Hauck , Alissa and Evan Smith; and seven great-grandchildren. Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, Orval; parents, Gilma (Kingland) and John C. Hinsverk, sisters Evelyn and Lorraine (Ondov) and brothers Cleo, Donald and John.

Dolores was born August 3, 1927, in Hendricks, MN and attended Augsburg College. In 1950, she married Orval J. Bies and together they called Minnesota their home, living in Hibbing, St. Louis Park, Northfield and Anoka.

Dolores's life was guided by her deep love and devotion for family. Her gentle manner of caring for those she loved was best experienced by her devotion and pride for her husband, children, grandchildren and siblings.

She was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Anoka, MN for over fifty years. A celebration of Dolores' life will be held at 1PM with a visitation one hour prior on Friday, November 1, at Zion Lutheran Church, 1601 S. 4th Ave, Anoka, MN 55303.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to the to the prayer ministry program at Zion Lutheran Church.
