Obituary

Denis “Deny” William Tadych age 80 of Blaine, passed away peacefully at Abbott Northwestern Hospital on July 16, 2026, after a short illness.

Deny grew up in in Foley, MN, son of Genevieve and Raymond Tadych, with his 4 siblings. He excelled in high school sports including basketball, football and baseball. He graduated from Foley High School in 1964. Deny married Doris Marie Herges in 1965 and spent 50 years raising their 3 children in Maple Grove, MN. He worked at Cneterpoint Energy for 45 years and retired in 2012. After the loss of his wife, Deny was blessed to find love again and married Julie Gorder Holman in 2017.

Deny loved spending time with family and friends. He continued his love of sports including softball, skiing, tennis and pickleball during his later years. He especially enjoyed golfing with his high school friends, which he maintained touch with over the years. He enjoyed wintering in Arizona for many years and always loved a good book.

Denis is survived by his wife Julie Tadych; children, Craig Tadych, Carrie (Jim) Hickey; grandchildren, Danielle (Charles) Diamond, Jared Tadych, Allyson and Andrew Hickey; great grandchildren, Zoey and Harrison Diamond, sisters, Terri (Tom) Cowley, Darlene Jaeckels, and sister-in-law, Francis Tadych.

Denis was preceded in death by his parents, Genevieve and Raymond Tadych; wife, Doris Tadych; son, Anthony Tadych; brothers, Allard and Donald Tadych; daughter-in-law, Susan Tadych.

Throughout his life Deny was blessed with a strong faith in Christ. Deny was a loving husband, amazing father and wonderful friend. He will be missed greatly.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026 at 11 AM with a visitation one hour prior at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 19921 Nightingale Street NW, Oak Grove, MN 55011. Interment will take place following the service at St. Patrick’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials will be given to a charity to be determined at a later date.
