Deb Lee Novak
October 28, 1954 – August 5, 2025
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Debra Lee Novak, age 70, who passed away peacefully at her home in Big Lake, MN, on August 5, 2025, after a courageous two-year battle with cancer.
Deb was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was born on October 28, 1954, in St. Paul, to Stanley and Karen (Kay) Allen. She grew up in Coon Rapids and graduated from Coon Rapids High School in 1973.
Throughout her life, Deb was known for the warmth and kindness she shared with everyone around her. Her positivity was ever-present - reflected not only in her daily interactions but also in the inspirational quotes that decorated her home or sent to friends to show love. She touched the lives of many and leaves behind memories that will be cherished forever.
Deb worked at Hoffman in Anoka for 36 years, where she formed many close friendships - and where she met the love of her life, Donnie.
Deb and Donnie shared 20 wonderful years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. Whether they were at family sporting events, spending weekends with friends, enjoying quiet evenings at home, or simply supporting one another through life's ups and downs, their bond was one of deep affection and true partnership. Together, they built a beautiful life that blended families and friendships into one.
More than anything, Deb loved being a grandmother. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy, and she never missed a game, ceremony, birthday, or opportunity to cheer them on. Whether it was celebrating milestones or simply lending a listening ear, she was always the family's biggest supporter and proudest cheerleader.
Deb is survived by her devoted husband Donnie; her son Aaron (Connie) Larson; her stepson Nick (Sara) Novak and stepdaughters Tabitha Novak and Jordin Novak; her cherished grandchildren, Sydney and Cy Larson; and Nora and Charlotte Novak; and her best friend Carol Breen.
In addition, she is survived by her mother, Kay Allen; her brothers Mike (Deb) Allen, Scott (Tanya) Allen, James (Chris) Allen, Steven (Kristy) Allen; her sister Jodi (John) Fetters; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her father, Stanley Allen.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Monday, August 18th, followed by a service from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Thurston-Lingberg Funeral Home, located at 2005 Branch Ave, Anoka, MN 55303.
Afterwards, please join us for a Celebration of Life at the Anoka American Legion from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. All are welcome to attend and honor Deb's life and legacy.
