David E. Lies, age 82 of Anoka, passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at home.

Dave was known for his dry-wit sense of humor.  His ability to crack jokes and "one-liners" could lighten any mood and make people laugh.

In addition to his parents, Raymond and Margaret (Proshek) Lies, Dave was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Orv O'Donnell.  He is survived by his wife, Donna; children, Leslie Berg, Jeffrey (Eileen) Leger, Cheryl Melody, and Kelly Dupre (John Fleck); grandchildren, Jason, Raenna, Ted, Vanessa, Jenna, Rachael, Chelsea, and Kara; great-grandchildren, JJ, Blake, Brittney, Colton, Russell, Ava, Myah, and Madi; sister, Sue O'Donnell; brother, Fred (Shelly) Lies; also many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

A Visitation will be held from 10:00 - 10:45 a.m. on Friday, October 9, 2020 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, 2005 Branch Avenue, Anoka, followed by procession to St. Stephen's Catholic Church, 525 Jackson Street, Anoka for the 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial.  There will be no visitation prior to Mass at church.  Interment with Full Military Honors will take place in Calvary Cemetery, Anoka.

Per CDC guidelines, social distancing and the use of masks are required.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
