Nelson, Darlene Joyce, age 84, from Crystal MN, died of natural causes on 7/23/17.

Born 4/27/33 in Minneapolis, MN to Richard and Margaret Schmidt, Darlene was the eldest of four.  In 1951, she married her high school sweetheart, Jerry A. Nelson and became the proud mother of six. Darlene is preceded in death by her parents and husband.  She is survived by her children, Jerry (Kristi) Nelson, Susan (Doug) Nelson-Dibble, Chris (Julie) Nelson, Cathy (Dean) Kettner, BethAnn (Jeff) Muhl and Amy (Bob) Baur; along with 23 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; siblings; nieces and nephews. Darlene easily made many friends in her neighborhood, church, and volunteer activities.  Funeral service Thursday, 11 a.m. at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, 2005 Branch Ave., Anoka.  Visitation one hour prior to service.  Private interment Fort Snelling Cemetery.  Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka, MN, 763-421-0220
